Annales Academiae Medicae Gedanensis was the scientific and informational journal published annually by the Medical University of Gdańsk (MUG) since 1970. It published original research as well as review articles and case reports in Polish language as well as a chronicle of MUG events. No electronic version was available.
Establishing a scientific journal was the idea of prof. Stefan Raszeja (MUG Rector of Science at the time) and was fully supported by the Rector of MUG at the time, prof. Marian Górski. Prof. Raszeja served as the Journal's first editor-in-chief until 1999. He was succeded by prof. Roman Kaliszan (2000-2005) and prof. Marek Grzybiak (2006-2016).
Annales were indexed in several databases: Scopus, Ulrich’s International Periodicals Directory and Index Copernicus. In 2016-2017, Polish Committee for Scientific Research granted Annales 5 points among Polish journals. In the same year, Index Copernicus listed us at 76.5 points.
