Abstract
This paper is a part of a larger project – longitudinal research on psychological conditions of success in medical career. The following section describes the psychological situation of medical residents who graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Gdańsk, Poland. The outline of quality of life of physicians in Poland was presented in part one of this section. In part two, the quality of life of young doctors, the graduates of Medical University of Gdańsk, was compared with the quality of life of other Poles belonging to the general population and to the most similar socio-demographic subgroups. On the basis of the study it may be concluded that the quality of life of young doctors is, on the whole, higher than of the compared groups. The subjects are happier than others, assess their life better and are more satisfied with different aspects of their life. However, professional life stresses them more than the others.
