Zastosowanie tomografii komputerowej w diagnostyce chorób serca
Abstract
Rapid technological advancements have allowed for application of Multidetector Computed Tomography (MDCT) as one of the routine diagnostic procedures in cardiology. In recent years, the quality of cardiac imaging has greatly improved, which is quite an achievement taking into account that the heart is a moving object, and thus specifically difficult to visualize. Here, we present basic information on current MDCT applications in the diagnostics of cardiac diseases, limitations of the technique, the course of the procedure, and also patient preparation. These issues are of importance in terms of the proper qualification of a patient for MDCT, and further interpretation of the obtained results.
