Abstract

Endometrial carcinoma is the most frequent neoplasm of female genitals occuring in developed countries. In Poland in 2011 5252 women came down with the illness and 1085 died because of it. In more than 80% cases women suffering from this disease were in their postmeopausal age. We would like to present two cases from our Clinic. What do the descibed patients have in common? Endometrial carcinoma misdiagnosed as a leiomyoma and a long time passing from the decision of intensifying the diagnostics to the final diagnosis. The described patients were accepted to our Clinic with the diagnosis made after D&C (dilatation and curettage). The analysis of the cases proves the presence of difficulties in diagnosing endometrial neoplasm, randomness of diagnosis and it aims at consolidating the need to perform D&C (dilatation and curettage) in every patient with postmenopausal bleeding.
