Abstract
The aim of the article is to present the history of the Chair and Department of Biology and Genetics of the Medical University of Gdańsk in Poland from 1945 until 2005. It is described how during the sixty years, the scientific directions have changed. The article also presents the work and names of people, who during two generation created the scientific and teaching achievements of the Chair.
